While a “sporty” car in the early-’60s compared to what it would mean at the end of the decade, automobile manufacturers were still searching for creative ways to make their cars were properly dressed. For Plymouth, the Sport Fury was its primo offering. Amenities included bucket seats, a center front console, full wheel covers and Deluxe steering wheel. At mid-year, Plymouth began adding a third taillamp and, full-length beltline trim extensions, with the Sport Fury script appearing in front of the front wheel openings.
