'50 Chevy Pickup

Release Date: June 2008

Cast Number: 971

Pickups were still considered utilitarian vehicles in 1950, so aesthetics took a backseat to dependable performance. The cab allowed for three-man seating, and the large windshield and more side and rear window glass improved driver safety. Trucks like this one were used by dealerships to deliver parts or make repair calls to farms where farmers were now able to use diesel-powered John Deere tractors, which had been introduced the previous year. This model shows off black fenders and detailed pickup bed.
